Mariela Rivero

Greetings!

Why hello there! I’m Mariela and I’m a bilingual Hispanic and Italian actress based in NYC.

From five sports to five subject areas of academic competitions (and of course, two musical instruments and teaching kids a mixed bag of topics), my involvement in oodles of activities growing up made choosing a career path a real hullabaloo. Eventually, I settled on acting as my primary focus because it encouraged me to keep exploring all of my interests and put them to grand use in “special skills” and “side hustles”. Years later, I remain unquestionably pleased with my decision.

Now, I’m a senior BFA Acting major at Pace University’s Sands College of Performing Arts. I’ve added onto my array of athletic skills, having become an SAFD Actor Combatant and taken up aerial arts. I’ve fed my crave for academia through dramaturgy and ongoing professional development for ESL instructors. And I’ve continued teaching through coaching acting, improv, and American accents for foreigners.

If you’re curious about what I’m relevantly involving myself in next, check out “What’s New” below!

I’ll leave you with a few fun facts:

1) A dream of mine is to be the model for printing paper. You know… the employee standing by the fax machine!

2) I’m originally from Delaware. Many people tell me I’m the first person they’ve met from there. It’s always an honor to be their first.

3) My family’s nickname for me is Rosebud. My mom always said it’s because I was born with jaundice, and the doctor told her to “plant” me in front of the window to cure it. But my grandma argues it’s since I have naturally rosy cheeks. It’s been a topic of family debate ever since, and I refuse to choose a side because being welcomed with a homemade apple pie whenever I visit either of these ladies is too scrumptious of an offer to risk.
